Hey Everyone, and Happy February!
It is finally lovely weather here in Greensboro North Carolina. I have taken the foil insulation off of our windows, door and steps and have our coach warmed by the sun and a little heater overnight. Speaking of my coach, I have posted a BEFORE Video of the inside of my coach in the notes section of my Publication if you would like a peek-a-boo. There are some fun comments on there and I hope will you join in too.
This week, I’ve just uploaded another episode of my radio show for you to enjoy! But before you dive in, I wanted to share a quick update.
What are you looking for in a podcast?
I’ve been racking my nogg’n a lot lately, trying to come up with a fresh format for my new podcast. Surprisingly, I’ve received tons of feedback from all of you—and many of you are enjoying the current format of my radio show. Thank you so much! I’d love to hear more from you: What do you think of the format I’ve been sharing? Please feel free to leave me some feedback!
Starting in March, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be launching my very first solo podcast show! For now, I’ll be keeping the same format, but as I shift my focus more toward the Over 50 community (to align with my upcoming book), you can expect some exciting new content on the way. But don’t worry, I’m still your down-to-earth Poop Queen, just with a little extra saging thrown in! 😉
I’ll also be bringing back my monthly recipe segment. If you have a recipe you'd love me to try, I’m up for the challenge! Leave me a comment here and let me know what you'd like to see featured.
Book Update!
I’m thrilled to share that the final draft of my book is done! I’m currently giving it one last read-through and then I’ll be looking for beta readers. If you're interested in being one, please leave a comment or email me, and I’ll put you on the list. (And, Sue, you’ll be the first to get it since I somehow missed you last time!)
I Need Your Help!
Got a topic you'd love me to cover? Whether it's about nutrition, wellness, lifestyle, or even the emotional-spiritual connections to food and wellness, I’d love to hear from you! Feel free to leave me a voice message on my personal dedicated podcast line. Don’t worry, I don’t answer it, so it’s all about the message!
The call-in number is the same as my radio show: (656) 222-0848.
Join me on Notes
Also, did you know you can join me on Notes on the Substack app? It's where I share encouraging words, tips, and tidbits from other amazing people. It’s such a fantastic app, and I’d love for you to join me there!
Thank You!
Over the last month, I’ve had 102 new subscribers to Hey Lady, You Are Fascinating. Welcome to all of you! I'm truly honored and touched by your support, and a little embarrassed that I haven't quite lived up to my new theme just yet. But stay tuned—more is coming soon!
I also had 20 new subscribers to Planes, Trains, and RVing—and I’m super honored that you all subscribed without even knowing who I am! It tickles me pink to have you join the community. Thank you so much!
What’s Coming Up?
I promise I’ll be back with fresh content in March! But for now, this week’s radio show is all about GLP-1. Did you know I first wrote about GLP-1 way back on June 5, 2023? You can check out the article here: Ozempic and Metformin for Weight Loss?.
And then again in May 2024, I wrote another post on the topic: Ozempic? Or Your Natural GLP-1 for Weight Loss?.
If you're looking for natural ways to tap into your body’s own GLP-1 (that are healthier and more affordable), be sure to listen to this week’s radio show.
Thank you so much for your understanding, and I’m really looking forward to seeing you all again in March with new content!
Show Notes: Understanding GLP-1, Weight Loss, and Your Gut
Opening:
Welcome to today's show! We’re diving into the fascinating world of GLP-1, a gut hormone that plays a key role in weight management. We’ll explore how GLP-1 aids in weight loss, its involvement with our gut, and the pros and cons of GLP-1RA medications. We’ll also discuss how you can activate your own natural GLP-1 fat-burning machine.
Segment 1: What is GLP-1?
GLP-1 is a naturally occurring hormone involved in regulating blood sugar, appetite, and fat burning. Initially developed for type 2 diabetes, GLP-1 has gained popularity as a weight loss aid, especially since it was approved for obesity management in 2023. We cover how GLP-1 works with the pancreas, intestines, and brain to manage blood sugar and promote satiety.
Segment 2: GLP-1RA Medications
GLP-1RA medications mimic the natural GLP-1 hormone and help manage blood sugar and aid in weight loss. While these medications like Ozempic and Trulicity can be effective, they come with side effects such as nausea, gallstones, and potential risks for gastrointestinal issues. We discuss the importance of understanding these risks and exploring natural ways to achieve weight loss.
Segment 3: The Emotional Side of Weight Loss
Weight is not just physical—it’s emotional and spiritual. We explore how unresolved emotions and past traumas can keep us stuck in unhealthy patterns, using food as a coping mechanism. The key to lasting weight release is tapping into the root causes of weight gain. We share a powerful client story of how emotional release led to effortless weight loss and a complete life transformation.
Segment 4: How to Tap Into Natural GLP-1
If you're not ready for GLP-1RA medications, don't worry! You can tap into your body’s natural GLP-1 to lose weight by focusing on a balanced diet, improving gut health, and practicing mindful eating. Keto and low-carb diets can help stimulate GLP-1 naturally, reducing appetite and improving energy. We also touch on the importance of proper sleep, movement, and supplements that support your body’s natural processes.
Focus on getting healthy, not just losing weight. Health is a lifelong journey that involves balancing your body, mind, and spirit. Weight loss can be a temporary goal, but lasting wellness is what truly transforms your life. No matter your approach—whether it's GLP-1RA or natural strategies—make sure you're working towards holistic health.
If you have a burning health, wellness, food cravings, emotional connections to food, you want answers to, leave a message on my dedicated hotline (656) 222-0848. Leave your first name and your question.
Thanks for tuning in—until next time, Have a fascinating week, and enjoy the adventure!
~Karen
