🫵How are you? 6 Month Check in🎧
June is the time to check in, reassess, pivot, let go and keep growing and going. Where you at? Listen or read now.
June marks a pivotal moment, doesn't it? It's that halfway mark, where we look back at the year that's flown by and forward to the months yet to unfold.
How are you making out so far? Are you on track with your goals, aspirations and stepping closer to your dreams?
June for me, it's a blend of anticipation and reflection, tinged with a touch of anxiety, maybe even panic, yes definitely panic, but not a physical panic more-so a spiritual panic. But amidst it all, there's an undeniable surge of emotion, a stirring of hope, fueled by newfound strength and clarity.
In case you are just joining me on this adventure (welcome), this year was meant to be different. With a mind clearer than ever, I set out to make meaningful changes, driven by a vitality I hadn't felt in ages. After having my organic acid and amino acid test done and unraveling the mysteries and understanding my body's needs, uncovering those elusive amino acids, I have rediscovered my own vitality, my mojo, my confidence. Who knew a simple Lysine and B vitamin boost could do so much!
And here we are, in June, half way through the year, a checkpoint I promised months ago. Remember when I shared my plans for a paid membership back in November? Well, I'm thrilled to say I've stayed true to that commitment. What's more, everything offered thus far is fresh, original content, straight from the depths of my soul if you are willing to follow along, it can help shift your mindset for sure.
I wanted this journey to be transformative for all of us. I envisioned materials that would not only ignite your spirit but also weave together the threads of understanding. And for those moments when you needed a lift, a boost of confidence, I crafted guided meditations with you in mind. Each month helps you progress to really get the most out of this year.
I'll admit, the silence after asking for your input was deafening and it did challenge my confidence. But I choose to believe the deadening silence must mean my offering resonates with you, that it fills a void you didn't even know you had. Ok, I am sure I am a one woman show, showing up each week, writing and narrating. You know what they say, fake it until you make it, dance like no one is watching. Or, in this case, write like no one is reading.
And in my latest moment of doubt, once again questioning if anyone is listening or doing, I stumbled upon a posted note from
Kristi Keller (above).A simple note sparked an unexpected flood of emotions and it came on cue — right after I was about to record the narration for my last post and I just started sobbing uncontrollably. It was the oddest thing. It was completely throat-induced (the throat is about speaking your truth). It was a little voice inside of me screaming “why are you doing this when no one cares? There are no likes, comments, thumbs up—nothing!” And, then, I did something different. I comforted the little voice. I told my voice, because somewhere at some time, someone is going to read this and it will make a difference. I’ll wait. I’m not giving up. So, if this is you.. thank you!
The “experts” say to pivot when the path ahead grows uncertain. And pivot, I did. Despite the fear, the uncertainty, I embraced this year with more fervor than the last five combined. And though doubts still linger, threatening to derail my resolve, I refuse to yield. I made a promise to myself, and I intend to keep it. I look at this way, if I can not keep my promises, how can I be true to any one else?
I recently tuned into a podcast featuring an interview with one of my favorite authors, a prolific writer who's been quietly crafting stories for twenty years. Despite his prolific output, his fame only recently began to spread. Many of his books, available on platforms like Amazon, had hardly seen any readership, maybe just a handful here and there. When the interviewers questioned him about persisting in writing despite the lack of readers, his response struck me: "I write for myself. If even one person finds value in my work, that's a bonus. I have stories to share and wisdom to impart, and I'll continue to write until I can't anymore." His words left me both astonished and oddly inspired. It reassured me that someday, my own journey might mirror his.
If I just stick with my intentions, the universal path will open up. And, it is slowly. The most unexpected opportunity came a long. A chance to host my own radio show. I said yes, not fully comprehending what lay ahead. But isn't that the beauty of it? Another pivot, another leap into the unknown, fueled by excitement and a healthy dose of nerves. If I had said no, I would have had to live with the unknowing of what might have been to come. At least if this is a failure, at least I tried. Failure increases strength and resilience. Interesting…I just had a thought…. I used to have two radio shows during my college years and I did not like the silence in comparison to DJing in front of live patrons. And, here I am again, doing another project of silence. Maybe I am meant to draw water from rocks.
Or, maybe, just maybe, find solace in the silence? To not wait for another’s opinion, acceptance or approval. Maybe it is time to rise above the groundswell and just do my own thing—you can come along for the ride if you like, you are always welcome.
I did post on Facebook asking if I could get some followers to call into the radio show and leave a message of what they would like to know about. So, a BIG THANK YOU to Dean and Sue for being the first - I appreciate you so much! You have no idea what it meant to me that you took the time to support me! And, on that note…
New Radio Show — Gut Healthier
I finally added the radio show logo to my new website. It seems so official now. Every Wednesday morning 7-8 am on Tampa Bay’s Talk Radio. I dish out the news and views on all things health —because all health starts in the gut. You can stream it live by using this link.
If you have a question you would like answered, call into the radio show line (no one answers it) and leave a message of what you would like to learn about. I will send you your own recording of the show to download. The call in number is (656) 222-0848. I would really appreciate you so much. I find it easier to answer questions than to come up with content I think you might want to know about. Eventually I will have these recordings turned into a podcast. I just do not have the bandwidth to get that going as well. I will, just, in time.
How am I measuring up?
I had declared 3 books, I am on track for one and that is my HOTLOGIC cookbook. I have organised it, and realised I need to add some more sides-working on that now.
My second book is on my RV adventures. I thought I would start a Substack tab. I think you can subscribe to it separately, if you hop over there. My goal is to post weekly and I am starting from the beginning if you would like to follow along. The 3rd book will have to be on hold with all the new pivots and upgrades. And, I am completely OK with this. The beauty of a 6 month check in is to reassess and see what is working and what to let go of and add to the “future list.”
With my Somatic Intuitive Trainer Certification and Certified Mind Body Integrative Specialist I stepped out and started creating meditations to help you all gain clarity by releasing what is no longer serving you. And, I am adding in the emotional connections to things in life. If there is something you would like to know more about, please leave a comment and I can get a post out on that.
Better Health Check-in
I also wanted better health—well, it has been challenging being out of our coach for 3 months. I have put on 10 pounds of stress! Even eating healthy the less than stellar restaurant food just has a way of keeping one trapped in unfair weight gain. I am so looking forward to being back in my coach, and getting back on track.
I do walk 3 miles a day and I am proud I am getting closer to my bum touching my heels. I can now bend half way down and get up back up. Sounds crazy, but sitting really does its toll. I am back to yoga, and started doing squats after each bathroom trip. Every time I use the bathroom, I do 5 squats. Hey, I believe in fitting in where ever possible and tiny upgrades like this will make a difference! Where can you add in little tiny upgrades? So, I make sure I am drinking plenty of water to ensure at least an hourly loo break. This will help strengthen my thighs and get me closer to my bum!
I am on my way back from Minneapolis sitting in the airport writing this (I did use the restroom a couple of times and also did my squats!) I can not wait to get back to my coach so that I can get back to real food, farmers markets and drinking my RO water.
SO, here is my six month mark…

What little steps have you taken?
What little steps are you celebrating?
Any unexpected creations?
Do you need to pivot?
What unexpected items or pivots have shown up for you?
Are obstacles in the way for you? Do not let that derail you.
If its obstacles, believe me, I understand stress and obstacles all too well. In the last six months, I've faced numerous challenges: family emergencies and surgeries, the passing of my mother-in-law, and four months of numerous hotel-hopping from North Carolina to Arizona with two cats in tow who do not like flying. Our motorcoach needed major repairs, and once we got it back, we had to deal with evicting mice and cleaning up their mess. The moldy fridge, with an evolving creature ready to attack upon opening the doors added to the chaos. All this while trying to maintain my business my weekly publishings and a radios show—it has not been easy.
I did not need a website catastrophe during all of this— but it was a blessing in disguise! I have a new website, new name and updated pictures. The buttons do not work yet, but at least it is up. Take a look if you like and feel free to leave some feed back. I did rebrand myself to the Quantum Gut, but my radio coach said no one knows how to spell it. So, I forwared HealthyGutAdvisor.com to the TheQuantumGut.com Again, If the website company I had been with for 7 years had not been so rude with their upgrade, I probably would never had updated my website. Another universal step-in signed, sealed and delivered! And super blessed for it too!
Each challenge threatened to derail me. Yet, through it all, I persisted. In fact, I was recording my radio show from my sanitized couch surrounded by mouse poop, chaos, mess— you name it —-all while staying true to my vision. When I looked upon why this was suddenly happening, I realised I did this! I ordered this! I kept telling the Universe, I just want to clean the coach before hitting the road—guess what? The Universe listened! I asked, I received. There is no better way to get squeaky clean than to add in some mice! I just need to be a little clearer on my intentions next time. However, she is clean from her basement to the roof. So, the Universe did deliver, I can not deny it. Just not what I envisioned!
Believe me I am not dwelling on the setbacks. Instead, I’m focusing on the victories, no matter how small. One and half books in the works, each a testament to perseverance and passion. And though the road ahead may be fraught with uncertainty, I march forward, unwavering in my commitment to authenticity.
So, my friend, where do you stand in this journey of yours? Are you on track to fulfill those January promises, and those lofty goals? If not, there's still time to course-correct, to embrace the pivot and forge ahead.
