Reflection, Reinvention, and Confidence – A Year of Transformation
🎧Listen to this week’s post👆
Imagine yourself standing at the edge of a year that’s been full of twists, challenges, breakthroughs, and growth. As you look back, every moment, every struggle, every setback, every challenge; every triumph, every good thing comes into focus like snapshots in your photo collection on your phone. There were times when you felt strong, full of hope, and determined, and moments when doubt whispered in your ear. Yet here you are, at the threshold of transformation, ready to step into a new version of yourself. Welcome and I am so excited for you.
I know I have had an incredible amounts of twists, turns, emotional breakdowns, and tons of challenges. And I have had some wonderful detours and enlighted twists. Here, the platform you are reading this, right now, it all started with going to a paid subscription; could I do it? Sure, I could; well, I did. Was it successful? Not in the least! I am sure those who upgraded are getting the benefits, but my sucess I measured on interaction, community, feedback and desparation for anyone to just let me know how they are doing or breathing! I am assuming they are enjoying the content by the open rate in my statistics page. And then I realized, 99% of my clients are extremely private people. I have no idea what they look like, sound like, they have no social media profiles and some I had to sign a non-disclosure to work with them.
Perhaps I attract those that want to read and not engage., If I am reflecting upon this, it must be that I am a Universally trustworthy person and that is a milestone because there was a time in my life where I was not trustworthy. And, I do believe I am meant to work with an elite few who just want to remain anonymous. So, a big thank YOU! to all my clients and my subscribers who just don’t want to engage. I have found clarity!
My mother-in-law passed away in the second month of the year, this lead to almost an entire year of family chaos and such. If you have gone through a death in the family, I am sure you know what I mean. So much so, there have been times I have just wanted to give up, what’s the use, I thought. I was taking things personally and just felt like the Universe was against me. I had to once again sit with what I had and find the reason and the path. I had a revelation. It was not about me at all! It was about their drama and trauma , pain and suffering. I understand that now. And it made me stronger to just keep going with what I am doing.
And, her passing allowed me much introspection about my own health and prompted my colonoscopy. Can I brag here for a moment? Part of the reason why I flew back to Arizona was to have a colonscopy. I was not trusting my bum to just anyone. And, can I double brag without a swelled head of course. I have now been more than 15 years CROHN’s free! Crohn’s disease is a branch under the inflammatory bowel Disease umbrella. Do I have some work to do? Of course I do. I say “more than”, because back in 2008 I had an anal abscess, even though at that the time there was no evidence of Crohn’s disease the surgeon and doctor closed my case with “due to Crohn’s.” So sad! I am more than likely going to add a separate post on this because there was so much to share in it!
I have had family members with other illnesses, surgeries, unexpected emergencies, flying here, flying there, living out of hotels, Motorcoach repairs and being (wonderfully) stuck in North Carolina, all adding to the ending twists and challenges. Perhaps the twists and challenges are needed in order to move to the next stepping stone in the journey. Two wonderful things that have happened on these twits and challenges are certifications as Certified Mind Body Integrative Specialist and Certified Hypnotists. Ya, I did that. I had no idea that was where I was going, however, I knew I needed something more. And, my last soapbox here, I was excited and yet nervous as hell to start the Hypnotherapy course. And, perhaps, I putting out this “doubt” energy to the Universe brought me a way out. I had a family medial emergency where I had to fly out the day before my course was to begin. My one little voice wanted me to cop out and just cancel the course. The other side of me which has been developing this past year said, let’s wait and see and figure out how we can make this happen. As I was on the plane reflecting once again, I thought whoa, who is this new little voice? This voice of calm amongst the panic, the reasoning to my irrational (and fearful) side that just wanted to quit before getting started. I was digging this new little voice.
I was able to make it to the hospital in record time and was making plans to hopefully catch a flight out the same night. The pharmacist, was not going to play nice so this could happen. Typically I would become angry at the mere fact that one measly soul-sucking person was stopping me from moving forward. And, would be another good opportunity to just cop out once again. And there was my little calm reasoning voice once again; Let’s work this out, what are our options? I was digging the fact I could think of other possibilities, think outside of the box. I am digging this new found perspective to stop and think before reacting.
We stayed in a hotel overnight right by the airport with an extended checkout that perfectly worked with the allotted time of my course for that day. We made it back to North Carolina and enough time to get a good night’s sleep to continue my course attentively for the next day.
That night, another snafu. I had another family member need my immediate help in Arizona. Make arrangements for a flight and fly out Monday morning. Again, I question if I should be doing this course. My stronger side won over, and got it sorted. I was able to work around the another catastrophe. It had been challenging but it worked out.
The third and fourth weeks went without a hitch because of my commitment to figuring a way to make it happen despite the amount of stress. I do not think I could have done this if had not been for the last 11 months of work I have shared with you all here in my weekly writings.
I have come to the conclusion that I can do ANYTHING I put my mind to it. I just had to find the tools to develop that “new” voice that has really always been there, just needed some time in the spot light. And, did you know you too have that little voice that wants time in the spot light? If you have followed along your little voice should be getting stronger to the point of trusting the process confidently.
Take some time to reflect on your year the good, bad and the ugly. Now imagine taking the month of December to really reflect on what you have learned, how you have grown. And, remember, you can now take that information and allow it to help you navigate the twists and turns of the coming year. There will always be twists and turns to navigate, but we can pilot them smoothly, if we choose.
I know there is all the hustle and bustle of the upcoming festivities however, sooner or later, you may find yourself slipping into habitual patterns that doesn’t allow you to really find yourself. What would it be like if you took the time, (and this is the right time) to realize it’s time to reflect on your year. So, take the time now to deeply reflect. Remember, you have the power to reflect, learn and pivot. So, push yourself because no one else is going to do it for you.
This is the power of reflection, reinvention, and confidence.
The last 11 months we have been together, each week a journey, each one designed to peel back layers, revealing your truest self and preparing you for what’s next. Together, we’ve explored essential themes of self-love, cleansing, releasing burdens, tuning in to our intuition, and decluttering the spirit. And now it’s time to bring it all together.
Look, I know we all have twists, curves, challenges and setbacks. Believe me, I know. But, imagine learning the lessons in there. You see, it’s an opportunity to examine, reflect and pivot. You are meant to do great things and share your gifts. Now, imagine sharing your great gifts and feeling confident about it, finally. Let’s get you sharing those elements of what makes you who you are! As the famous line goes in the movie Dirty Dancing— no body puts Baby in the corner. So, Baby, it’s time to shine!
Suppose this is your moment to pause, reflect, and recognize the person you’ve become. Who do you want to bring forward for next year?
Reflection is more than just looking back—it’s about gathering wisdom from experience. Think of the lessons you’ve learned like stars in the night sky, each one illuminating a piece of your path. Over the past year, we’ve focused on:
Self-love: You began by embracing yourself fully, accepting the parts of you that were waiting for kindness and compassion. Self-love became the foundation for everything that followed.
Cleansing mind and body: You let go of mental and physical clutter that no longer served you, creating space for the things that truly nourish you.
Shedding the weight: Whether it was emotional baggage or habits that weighed you down, you gave yourself permission to release what didn’t belong.
Reassessing where you are: You took an honest look at your life, identifying areas that needed adjustment and realigning with your values.
Affirmations and gratitude: You rewired your mind with affirmations, choosing thoughts that empowered you, and discovered gratitude’s quiet power to shift perspectives.
Believing in yourself: As challenges arose, you strengthened your belief in your ability to handle whatever came your way.
Developing intuition: You tuned into your inner guidance, learning to trust your instincts and make decisions aligned with your heart.
Decluttering your spirit: And just recently, you explored the process of clearing mental and emotional clutter, making space for clarity and fresh possibilities.
Every step on this journey was essential, each month building on the last. Perhaps it hasn’t always been easy because there were moments when progress felt slow or even impossible. Remember, progress isn’t always about grand leaps; it’s about the steady unfolding of who you are becoming, strengthening your little voice of possibilities and the confidence to follow through. Find yourself reflecting right now, go ahead, take a deep breath. Sooner or later, you are going to realize just how far you have come and farther than you realize.
Reinvention – Evolving, Not Starting Over
I do not like the whole New Year’s Resolution thing because we have been led to believe we are wiping the slate clean and starting from scratch. Imagine what it would be like if we just thought about evolving and aligning more closely with the person we’ve become through reflection.
Imagine you are a sculptor who has been chipping away at a block of marble all year. With every lesson learned, every moment of self-love, and every piece of emotional weight released, you’ve carved away what didn’t belong. Now, you’re standing before the sculpture that’s been waiting to emerge: the most authentic version of yourself. And, you may find yourself quite please with what you have sculpted, wouldn’t you?
Reinvention isn’t about becoming someone else—it’s about becoming more of yourself. It’s a process of realignment, not rejection. This is the moment to ask, “What feels right for me now?” and “Who am I ready to become?”
Whether you dream of starting a new career, strengthening relationships, or simply living with more joy, your path ahead is wide open. Imagine how reflection and reinvention gives you permission to change direction if needed, to explore, and to create without fear. The beauty of this moment is that you’re not starting over; you’re continuing a journey that’s been unfolding all along.
Confidence; Trusting Yourself to Step Forward
I want you to realize that confidence isn’t just the ability to walk into a room with your head held high. It’s the quiet assurance that you can trust yourself to make decisions, even when the outcome isn’t clear. Over the past year, you’ve built a foundation of confidence through self-belief and intuition.
Remember those moments when you doubted yourself? When fear tried to convince you that change was too risky or that you weren’t ready? And yet, you found yourself moving forward anyway and that’s confidence.
It’s the knowledge that even if the road ahead is uncertain, remember, that you have everything you need within you to navigate it and you may even find yourself enjoying the new found confidence to trust in this.
The path of reinvention requires this kind of confidence. It asks you to trust your instincts, even when others can’t see your vision. Sooner or later, your little voice will be trusted by you; asking you to be courageous, knowing that every small step forward counts. And it asks you to believe, deeply, that you are capable of making a real change.
Why This Moment Matters
Remember, reflection, reinvention, and confidence are not just abstract ideas—they are tools to prepare you for what comes next. As you approach the new year, this is your opportunity to lay a solid foundation. In fact, take a moment to close your eyes, take 3 deep breaths and imagine what it would be like if you took the tools you have learned and applied them to what you want for next year. What would that look like? How would that open up new opportunities for you?
I want you to realise the work you’ve done over the past 11 months has prepared you for this moment. I want you to realise you have built strength, developed clarity, and cultivated self-trust. Now imagine using these new found tools to help you get what you want for the coming year?
And now, the question is: What will you do with it?
Give yourself permission to dream again, to explore new possibilities with an open heart. What would it be like if you were to pursue a passion you’ve ignored for too long. Suppose you are ready to let go of an old identity that no longer fits. Whatever it is, know that you are ready.
You may find yourself feeling that the gears are already turning. The shifts are happening. All you need to do is take that first step. Reinvention isn’t about waiting for the perfect moment. It’s about beginning where you are, right now, with what you have. And, if you feel stuck, you can reach out to me and we can get you unstuck. Or, go back to January here on my publication platform and start with January’s posts and get caught up. Or read the posts that are resonating with you right now.
As you move forward, remember that confidence isn’t the absence of fear, it’s the willingness to take action in spite of it. Reinvention isn’t about perfection, it’s about progress. And reflection isn’t about dwelling on the past. It’s about gathering wisdom for the future.
So take a deep breath. Reflect on how far you’ve come. Imagine what’s possible when you align with your truest self. And trust that you have the confidence to step boldly into the next chapter of your life.
This is your moment. This is your time to reflect, reinvent, and rise with confidence. I am excited for you.
