I hope you all had a wonderful relaxing holiday. Mine has been interesting, and too much to share for just a blurb here on Substack. Let’s just say, I had no idea I would be spending the holidays in North Carolina freezing my butt off! I am hoping for some snow so that my cats can experience the white stuff. They have never seen snow. We are waiting out in Madison for our appointment on January 8th to find out the fate of our travel adventures. We were getting ready to head back to Arizona in December and that meant getting our coach checked out before the long 2,141 mile journey.
The techs at Hurlocker’s Truck and Repair found the back frame supporting our coach was broken on both sides, with the middle cracked piece holding us up. It’s been quite a nervy situation. Now, it's all up to a guy named Josh of Beck’s Frame and Alignment to craft a new frame. I've been aligning with the Universe, manifesting the solution. Feel free to cross some fingers and toes for us. Stay tuned!

The most important day is the day you decide you’re good enough for you. It’s the day you set yourself free.”-Brittany Josephina.
Can you believe a new year starts on a Monday? Happy first Monday of a brand new month in a fabulous new year!
The cliché slogan new year, new me is just so “ugh!” You are not some shiny new you. You are still the same you in a new year. Sorry, but it is true.
Typically when we start something new, like a new diet, fitness program, weight loss plan we have a tendency to say “starting Monday....”
So , this year, starting Monday, my New Years resolution is going to be…. talk about a double whammy!
I have a question for you. How long does it take for your “new you” to fizzle out and those goals to just dissipate like rain drops on hot car hood? You are not alone.
According to Forbes Health the top 2024 New Years resolutions are, in order
48% Improving fitness
38% Improve finances
36% Improve mental health
At the very bottom,
7% Make more time for hobbies
7% Improve work-life balance
6% Travel more
Last year 45% of respondents noted an improvement in mental health as their top priority, with just 39% citing improved fitness as their number one goal.
What a lovely world it would be if we could switch those numbers around. In my second last post of 2023 we talked about how having a hobby can actually help us feel better about ourselves.
It is almost like, we have come to the conclusion there is nothing we can do about our mental health, so let’s just move on to improving our fitness and finances instead. I suspect at the end of the year we will accept being broke, and still out of shape and move on to … what, I have no idea.
If only those in authority could assist us in recognizing that engaging in hobbies, adventures, and allocating time for play not only enhances our overall fitness and mental well-being but also eliminates the need to consider them as new year's resolutions. We'd feel consistently fantastic, freeing our minds to concentrate on other aspects of life.
We should be asking ourselves, why are these the top 3 resolutions year after year even though they shift in focus? Why are we not checking these off for good?
How long does it take for the intention of a new years resolution to fizzle and fade from existence? Two- to four months.
Forbes 2023 Health survey revealed
under 1 in 10 (8%) say their resolutions have lasted a month
21.9% report two months
22.2% report three months
13.1% say their resolutions have lasted four months
Why do our intentions fizzle? A couple of reasons;
they may be too big and have not been broken down into smaller junks to actually obtain
do not have the resources to figure out how to achieve it
takes too long and we loose the ambition to follow through.
and, as a holistic nutritionist - diet also thwart our ambitions and motivation
the big one, worthiness
Maddening, I know.
What if, instead of following the usual trend of physical resolutions or choosing a "word for the year" as per societal norms on social media, we opted for a completely different approach this year?
What if instead you were to align your ambitions with your self worth starting with your core vales? Do you know what your core values are?
